Location:
The Town of Montague is located in Lewis County just west of the Town of Lowville. NYS Route 26 runs to the east of the Town from north to south and NYS Route 177 runs to the north of the Town from east to west. Located to the northwest of the Town is the Tug Hill State Forest, to the southeast of the Town is the Tug Hill Wildlife Management Area, and north of the Town is the Grant Powell Memorial State Forest.
